My Nighttime Skincare Routine!

Hi, fashionistas!

Everyone has a nighttime skincare routine. Whether it is an extremely elaborate regimen or simply washing your face with a makeup wipe before bed, every step is important. For me, I have 5 to 6 steps in my routine (depending on how tired I am) and, today, I’m giving you a little insight into how I keep my skin looking refreshed and clear when I wake up!

Here are the steps:

Step 1: Cleanser

Before anything else, I take all of my makeup off by using the Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser. I have found that Cetaphil is the safest cleanser to use for my sensitive, acne-prone skin, and this particular one won’t dry it out. It does take a bit more time to take my eye makeup off with it, but eventually, it does the job.

Step 2 (Optional): Face Mask

About 2-3 times per week, after washing my face, I use a face mask to get everything out of my pores without irritating my skin. My two favorite masks are the Clinique City Block Purifying Mask and the Boscia Clarifying Detox Mask (which I bought at TJ Maxx for only $10!) because they don’t irritate my skin and they only take 5 minutes! I’ve definitely seen a difference in my skin since using them.

Step 3: Toner

The second step is to use the Clinique Clarifying Lotion for Sensitive Skin. This product both tones and gently exfoliates my skin and leaves it looking even and smooth. It’s also great after the Clinique City Block mask because it closes my pores after being exfoliated.

Step 4: Serum

After using my toner, I move onto slathering a little bit of the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair serum onto my face. This is a MIRACLE product! For years I had suffered from acne scars all over my cheeks, but this serum cleared them all up in under a month! It also helps my moisturizer sink in. I highly recommend it to anyone who needs an extra boost in their skincare routine.

Step 5: Moisturizer

After the serum, I put a small dot of either the Clinique Dramatically Different Gel or the Clinique Moisture Surge (if my skin is feeling extra dry that night) on all the sides of my face and then smooth it in. I like these moisturizers, because they don’t make me super oily and break out overnight. Also, they don’t have an overpowering smell, which is important for anyone with sensitive skin as added fragrances can cause irritation.

Step 6: Spot Treatment

For the final step, I use a spot treatment that I received from a dermatologist to clear up any annoying acne spots. Every so often I get one, and using a spot treatment helps to speed up the process of clearing it up and minimizes it for the next day.

Here are the products I mentioned in the post:

Another way to keep your skin looking fresh is to invest in a comfortable mattress. Getting a good night’s sleep helps to prevent dark circles.

Until my next post, fashionistas! I had been thinking about posting something like this for a long time and really enjoyed writing it! As always, I love my lovely readers!

xx,

Lauren
